We finally have our apartment put together well enough, that I feel comfortable sharing some pictures with you. It is very sparsely appointed for two reasons. First, we all know that less stuff means that I will spend less time cleaning. Secondly, less stuff means more mobility. We still plan on living aboard within the next year, and I don’t want that move to involve the nightmarish decluttering that dominated June and July, with this move. Our rule is that we will own nothing that we can not part with.
So, let me show you my new home!
First, the dining room. We bought this ’80’s table and three chairs from a nearby thrift store.
The kitchen has a window into the living room.
Our wicker furniture fills the living room nicely.
The view from the balcony.
Beanie picked up some new games at the thrift store.
There is a door between the bathtub and toilet, which is very nice!
And the other door opens into the bedroom.
This is kind of embarrassing, because I look like I’m trying to score minimalist points. But, Beanie wanted to sleep in the same room as us, and use this as her play room. She likes the open space and freedom to arrange her toys as needed, for whatever she is doing. We might add a shelf, for her books and games.
The pictures will be hung, after we get some nails.
Our bedroom. As cool as the futon-matress-on-the-floor thing is, it is not comfortable at all. We will probably get a futon frame, for our bed.
Beanie, however, loves the fluffy Japanese futon that Rob sewed for her!
Lest you think I’ve become perfect, I will let you see our walk-in closet. We now have more hangers, so it is a bit more organized.
So that is our new home! Next week, I am going to start posting on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
